Live music for your Okanagan wedding

Guitar and vocals for your ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner, in the vineyard, on the lawn or down by the lake. I've played over 20 shows around the valley this year, from winery patios to private parties. I bring my own sound and a mic for your officiant, there are no travel fees in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country or Vernon, and I keep my wedding calendar small, so your day gets my full attention.

Hear what your evening could sound like

Something easy while your guests find their drinks and the light turns gold. The slow ones once dinner's done, when couples start pulling each other up to dance. And a singalong to close the night that everyone joins, even the uncles who swore they wouldn't.

Where it started

Over 100 weddings in Ireland, from the age of 12

I grew up playing weddings in Ireland in a family band with my dad and my uncles. I started at 12, and from 18 to 21 we were playing one or two every weekend, all summer long. These days it's just me and a guitar, and I've been playing around the Okanagan since 2020. I still know how a wedding day flows: when the room needs quiet music, when it's time to lift it, and what to do when the speeches run long.

Colin is officially a summer tradition for our family! We first met Colin while he was performing at a winery event and we were so impressed by his incredible catalog of music that we have now hired him for our annual backyard party three years in a row. He plays all genres for all ages, making it impossible not to sing along (which we do, very loudly!). Colin is a fantastic talent, a wonderful sport, and our summer simply wouldn't be summer without him.

I keep wedding dates limited each season, so it's worth asking early. Tell me your date, the venue and which parts of the day you'd like music for. I'll get back to you within a day with my availability, and we can set up a call to talk through the day.

FAQ

Questions couples ask

Can you learn our song?

Yes, within reason. One learned song is included in every package, usually the aisle song or the first dance, and more are $100 each. If your song won't work on acoustic guitar and voice, I'll tell you straight and suggest one that will.

What kind of music do you play?

Songs from the 60s to today, from Tom Petty and Springsteen to Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, played on acoustic guitar with vocals. Quiet and warm for the ceremony, lighter through cocktails, and a singalong by the end of dinner.

Will you be too loud?

No. The ceremony and dinner are set so people can still talk, and I only turn it up when the room wants to sing.

Will you work with our planner?

Yes. Send me your timeline and I'll go through the cues with them: processional, signing, entrances and first dance.

Our ceremony is outside. Do you need power?

Not always. My speaker can run on battery, so a ceremony out in the vineyard or on the lawn can often work without an outlet. Tell me where the ceremony is and I'll confirm what's needed. For dinner I need a small spot and a power outlet within reach. I bring the sound system and the officiant mic.

What about heat, wind or rain?

Most Okanagan weddings are outside, so I plan for it. On hot afternoons a bit of shade keeps the guitar in tune and the music sounding right. If the weather turns, the set moves wherever your rain plan goes, under a tent or indoors.

What if the day runs long?

It usually does a little. I'll keep playing. Past your booked time it's $100 per extra half hour.

How do I hold the date?

A 50% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due 14 days before the wedding.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. I only take a small number of weddings each season.

Do you charge for travel?

Not in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country or Vernon.
